Your First Event Job: A Checklist From Booking to Payment
By MyEventMitra Team · Updated 4 November 2026 · 5 min read
Your first event job can feel uncertain: you do not know the people, the venue or the routine. A simple checklist removes most of the stress and helps you make a good first impression.
Before you say yes
- Event name, date and venue address with a map pin.
- Your role and who you report to, with their phone number.
- Reporting time and expected release time.
- Dress code, including shoes.
- Pay amount, whether food is provided, and when you will be paid.
The day before
- Plan your route and leave extra time for Bangalore traffic.
- Iron your clothes and charge your phone and power bank.
- Message the coordinator to confirm you are coming.
What to carry
- Government ID, which some venues check at entry.
- Phone, power bank and some cash.
- Water bottle, a small snack and any medicines you need.
- A pen. Registration and info desk roles often need one.
On the day
Reach 20 to 30 minutes early and report to your coordinator. Listen to the briefing and ask questions. Stay at your post, keep your phone in your pocket and be polite with guests and other staff. Do not leave before you are released.
After the event
Thank the coordinator and say you are available for future events. Follow up on payment as agreed. Add the event to your profile so the next organizer can see your experience.
Frequently asked questions
What if I cannot attend after confirming?
Tell the coordinator as early as possible so they can find a replacement. Last-minute no-shows are the fastest way to stop getting booked.
