How to Build a Volunteer Profile That Gets You Hired
By MyEventMitra Team · Updated 4 November 2026 · 4 min read
Organizers often shortlist from dozens of profiles in a few minutes. A complete, honest profile puts you ahead of people who apply with empty or blurry ones.
Start with the photo
Use a recent, well-lit photo of just you, from the chest up, with a plain background and a natural smile. Avoid sunglasses, filters, group shots and very old pictures. For hostess, promoter and model roles, organizers may also ask for a full-length photo.
Fill in the details organizers filter by
- City and area, so they know you can reach the venue.
- Languages spoken.
- Preferred roles, such as usher, registration or promoter.
- Availability: weekdays, weekends, evenings.
- Height, if you are applying for hostess or model roles.
Show experience, even if it is small
List events you have worked at with the role and a line about what you did, for example "Registration desk, 2-day tech conference, handled 300+ check-ins". College fests, NSS activities and family events count when you are starting out.
Keep it up to date
Update your availability and add each new event after you work it. A profile that shows recent activity tells organizers you are active and reliable.
